Amplifying thought leadership on social media

A national firm wanted to boost its team members’ presence on social media. We delivered a scalable DIY social kit that made social posting easy.

Boosting social media engagement for an enterprise team

Social media helps businesses stay top of mind with their potential clients, but managing it can often feel like a full-time job.

A large client with multiple offices throughout the U.S. wanted to build online engagement for its individual team members by boosting their social media presences. These team members didn’t always have a lot of time to spend on creating relevant, timely content, so they needed fast, flexible options for expanding awareness.

Our team stepped in and offered to support their posting efforts.

The challenge: Creating scalable, personalized content

We didn’t want to post identical content to personal social media accounts for each member of their team. The company’s clients are too savvy—having nothing but similar sounding, canned messages would not create an individual following or position their team as thought leaders.

Instead, we wanted to establish a foundation for team members to build up their posting on a weekly basis.

How we did it

Our creative process was human-centered and collaborative.

We dove into a variety of topics and news feeds pertinent to the team’s industry and services, supplying content, video, and graphic elements that they could then quickly tailor to match their personal expertise and personality.

Team members had the option to use these weekly posts exactly as they were provided but also were encouraged to add their own spins. Was there a specific insight only they could provide or a certain way they could help potential clients with the topic at hand? Personalization was key to providing readers more information and increasing the chances of engagement.

The client also learned about social media best practices that couldextend their social media reach both within their own organization and beyond.

The result? One individual saw their LinkedIn follower growth increase by 80%, while another gained more than 500 new followers.

Unexpected benefits: New connections and leads

Our initial goals for these “do it yourself” weekly posts were to increase engagement and network growth. Some posts did have calls to action for contacting team specialists, but we didn’t want posts to feel like constant sales pitches. We wanted to start conversations that could attract further attention and additional leads.

And conversations did get started – even in ways we hadn’t expected! One of the industry sources we regularly tagged took notice and reached out to the team, inviting a specialist to appear on their podcast. Another reconnected with a contact they hadn’t spoken to in 10 years who saw their social media posts and wanted to talk about new business opportunities.

Looking to connect with a bigger audience?

Social media can be a powerful tool when used consistently and effectively, but we know not everyone has the time, resources, or attunement to make those efforts shine. We’re ready to help clients make more of their outreach, not only on social media but through email, websites, and more.

Want to talk about how we can best get your voice out there and make a difference? We’d be happy to schedule a time with you.
