As LaFleur’s content marketing director, Steven Thomas Kent works with a passion for illuminating issues through exceptional content. He oversees content creation and strategy for a wide range of clients, and he also hosts and produces the LaFleur podcast, Legal Marketing Radio.
A Grand Rapids, Michigan native, Steven received his B.A. in journalism from Loyola University Chicago in 2009. After graduating from college, he worked as a freelance journalist and marketing copywriter for several years in Chicago. He later returned to Grand Rapids and served as the editor of Roadbelly magazine, a quarterly food publication, from 2013 to 2015. His work has been published on the websites DailyFinance, ATTN:, and Rapid Growth Media, among others.
As a child, Steven grew up devouring John Grisham books and true crime stories and thought that he would one day become a lawyer. Even though he later decided to pursue a career as a writer, he carries an abiding respect for the legal profession to this day.
In his spare time, Steven enjoys reading, photography, listening to music, and playing guitar. He keeps up with too many music blogs and listens to everything from post-punk to hip-hop, but his all-time favorite artist is Van Morrison. Come April you can usually find him glued to a television for the NHL playoffs, where he roots for the Chicago Blackhawks.
