Although he began his undergraduate work as a pre-med student, David VandeWaa graduated from Hope College with a BA in History Education and English Education and then went on to receive an MA in English Literature from Grand Valley State University. He has spent over a decade teaching writing, literature, and history in high school and college classrooms. His interests range from quantum mechanics and evolutionary biology to Arthurian legend and Anglo-Saxon poetry in the original Old English. In fact, he can’t remember a time when he wasn’t working through an ever-changing stack of 10 books next to his bed. He has traveled extensively across Europe and the United States, has had his poetry and prose published in academic literature, and once spent a year working 6 different jobs and having 8 different bosses – because why not?
Starting in 2011, he began taking his love of learning, his appetite for knowledge, his skepticism about every statistic he reads, and his meticulous eye for detail and putting them to work in the digital marketing world. From organizing projects and writing exceptional blog articles to editing book manuscripts and crafting professional press releases, all things content-related are a perfect match for his skills, knowledge, and expertise.
With a wife, a newborn son, and two dogs, Dave still manages to find time for his favorite hobbies: working on his house, enjoying the outdoors, photography, gaming, close-up magic, and of course writing: he occasionally posts anecdotes and essays about his experiences on his blog.
